At Tayview Primary School, we aim to provide a caring, welcoming environment for all our pupils and families.
Tayview Primary School is a large non-denominational primary school situated within the Menzieshill area of Dundee. Our lovely, modern building opened in 2017, following the merger of two smaller primary schools. Menzieshill is an area with a mixed range of housing, a large community hub, shops, churches, a community garden and a denominational primary school. Ninewells hospital (a large teaching hospital) is directly to the south of the school. Tayview Primary School is a feeder primary to Harris Academy.
The school accommodation is built over two levels, with Menzieshill Nursery School sharing the building. The school roll of 450 is spread over 16 classes, with 5 additional rooms offering Enhanced Support to approximately 60 of our learners. The school also benefits from an assembly hall, dance studio, gym hall, ICT suite, library, group rooms, family/partner provider rooms and a large playground with a range of areas for learning and play.

Tayview PS has a full time Head Teacher, supported by a Depute Head Teacher and two Principal Teachers (PT Whole School and PT Supporting Learners) The staff team is made up of 25 teachers (full and part-time),10 Learning and Care Assistants, 4 Primary and Early Years Support Assistants, Lunch Time Supervisors, and Admin Assistant, a Senior Learning and Care Practitioner, and a large team of catering, cleaning and janitorial staff.
The school is ably supported by the following services: Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Music and Instrumental Services, Active Schools, Ancrum Outdoor Centre, Libraries Service, DCC Pedagogy Team plus an allocated Education officer and senior officers of Dundee City Council.
